A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop – August 2023

Sep 8, 2023 | Paper Pumpkin

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!  A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  Continue reading to see the projects I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other blogs, and learn more about the next kit (August 10th is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the August 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Meaningful Flowers.  This kit came with materials to make 8 cards, 4 each of 2 designs.  I used elements from this kit to make a couple of simpler cards.

Alternate Project Ideas

Card 1

To make this first card, I adhered the large lily pad layer to an Orchid Oasis card base.  Next, I added the lotus piece to the lower part of the card using Dimensionals.

Then, I stamped the sentiment on a 1/2″ strip of White cardstock and trimmed the ends at an angle. I added some Linen Thread under the right side of the sentiment piece before adding it over the lotus piece.  I also added 5 of the clear embellishments to the front.

For the inside, I stamped the lily pad image in the bottom corner of a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of White cardstock.  Then, I added this piece to the inside.

Card 2

To make the second card, I trimmed the floral card base to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and added it to a Crushed Curry card base. Next, I punched out a circle from White cardstock using the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch.  I stamped the sentiment on the lower left area of the circle.

Then, I trimmed off the lower leaves on the floral piece and adhered it to the right side of the stamped circle.  I added this layered piece to the card using Dimensionals.  I tied a length of Linen Thread into a bow and added to the stems of the floral piece.  I also added a few clear embellishments (after coloring them with the Dark Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends).

For the inside, I stamped the floral image in the bottom corner of a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of White cardstock.  Then, I added this piece to the inside.
