Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits. Continue reading to see the projects I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other blogs, and learn more about the next kit (June 10th is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

Today’s hop features the May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Exploring In Color. This kit came with materials to make 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs. I cut three of the card bases into four strips each to make a set of 12 cards.

Alternate Project Ideas
Card Set
To make this card set, I turned three card bases into 12 cards by adding some cardstock and envelopes. I took one of each style card base and cut them into four strips (each measuring 5-1/2″ x 2-1/8″). Details for each version is below.
After all the cards were made, I used one of the sentiment pieces to make a tag. And used a long strand of linen thread to tie the cards and envelopes together. I used the twine from the kit, but a thicker ribbon/thread would probably work better to keep everything together.

Version 1
For this version, I used Pebbled Path cardstock as the card base. I took each strip from the original card base (the one with the tent) and added a 1/2″ strip of White cardstock under the right edge so that only about 1/8″ peeks out. Then I adhered this layer to the base about a 1/4″ from the left edge.
I stamped the sentiment on a 1-1/2″ x 2″ piece of White cardstock with Pebbled Path ink. Then, I added a 3/4″ x 2-1/2″ strip of Boho Blue cardstock underneath. This layered piece was added to the right side of the card with Dimensionals (the placement at the top or bottom depends on the scene). To finish the front, I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots around the sentiment layer.
For the inside, I stamped the mug image in the bottom left corner of a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of White cardstock with Pebbled Path ink and glued it inside.

Version 2
For this version, I used Moody Mauve cardstock as the card base. The strips from the original card base are added in the same fashion as the first version.
I stamped the sentiment on a 3/4″ strip of White cardstock with Moody Mauve ink. It’s stamped close to the left side and then cut at an angle on the right side. Then, I added a 3/4″ strip of Boho Blue cardstock underneath, so about a 1/8″ peeks out from the bottom and extends past the right edge, which gets trimmed to match the angled edge. This layered piece was added to the card with Dimensionals so the left edge lines up with the left edge of the original card base strip (the placement at the top or bottom depends on the scene). To finish the front, I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots around the sentiment layer.
For the inside, I stamped the boot image in the bottom left corner of a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of White cardstock with Moody Mauve ink and glued it inside.

Version 3
For this version, I used Copper Clay cardstock as the card base. The strips from the original card base (the one with the canoe) are added in the same fashion as the other versions.
I stamped the sentiment on a 1″ strip of White cardstock with Copper Clay ink, and cut both sides at an angle. Then, I added a 1/2″ x 3-1/4″ strip of Boho Blue cardstock underneath. This layered piece was added to the right side of the card with Dimensionals (the placement at the top or bottom depends on the scene). To finish the front, I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots around the sentiment layer.
For the inside, I stamped the compass image in the bottom right corner of a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of White cardstock with Copper Clay ink and glued it insdie.
