Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits. PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the May 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit – The Best There Is.  This kit came with materials to make 9 cards.  I turned a few card bases from the kit into a Father’s Day banner (to go with the Mother’s Day banner I made with last month’s kit).

Alternate Project Idea

Father’s Day Banner

For making this banner, I cut four card bases (two Misty Moonlight and two Crumb Cake) in half along the score line and then in half again. This resulted in 16 pieces all measuring 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ (there will be one extra piece not needed for the banner).

I trimmed the bottom of each piece to form a banner shape. And I punched a little hole near the top corners of each piece.

Then it was time to decorate the panels. Using the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, I punched out 15 circles from Basic White cardstock. Using the 2″ Circle Punch, I punched out 8 circles from Early Espresso cardstock and 7 circles from Crumb Cake cardstock.

On the smaller circles, I stamped the letters to spell out “Happy Father’s Day” with Misty Moonlight ink. Then I added the stamped circles for “happy” and “day” to the Early Espresso circles with Dimensionals, and the circles for “father’s” to the Crumb Cake circles.

For the foliage accents, I cut the die-cut foliage elements in half and added one piece to each panel (alternating the location and foliage color)

Next, I added the layered circles to the banner panels with Dimensionals. The letters for “happy” and “day” went on the Crumb Cake panels, and the letters for “father’s” went on the Misty Moonlight panels.

To finish the banner, I strung all the panels onto a length of twine.
