Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits. Continue reading to see the projects I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other bloggers, and learn more about the next kit (December 10th is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the November 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Warm Wishes.  This kit came with materials to make 8 treat packages.  I used elements from the kit to turn the treat packages into standing fun fold cards.

Alternate Project Idea

Standing Fun Fold Card

To make this style of card, I took one of the house pieces and added an extra scoreline to the middle of the “bottom” section (the section between the two sides of the house). See the photo below for where to score.

Then I folded along the regular scorelines just like you would for the intended project. The extra scoreline gets folded in (the card base will now have a W shape at the bottom).

Next, I adhered a wreath piece to the top of a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock (this size fits with either house piece). This piece is then added to the inside of the card.

I also added more wreaths to the front of the card.

Then, I wrapped a length of linen thread around the flap at the top to close the card and tied the sentiment tag to it with a bow.

The front of the card can slip out from the flap/thread to open the card, and it can be tucked back in to close it.

Simple Decorated Envelopes

These standing fun fold cards can be flattened and will fit inside regular-sized envelopes. To decorate the envelopes, I stamped a row of presents along the bottom front area, and “Special Delivery” to the back flap.

A tip for stamping the presents along the bottom: start in the middle and then work your way to the sides. If desired, you could color in the images.
