PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Home for the Holidays.  This kit came with materials to make 8  regular-sized cards.  I used elements from the kit to make a slimline card.

Alternate Project Idea

Slimline Card

To make the slimline card, I used an 8″ x 9″ (scored at 4″ on the 8″ side) piece of Night of Navy cardstock for the card base. I took two of the house pieces and lined them up on a 1″ x 8-1/2″ strip of White cardstock. Then, I trimmed off the extra (see photo below) on the one side.

To add the house piece to the card, I ran some Seal along the bottom and added some Dimensionals along the top. Then, I centered this piece near the bottom edge of the card.

After adding the houses, I felt that the top section needed something. So, I stamped the snowflake image with Night of Navy ink randomly above the houses. I also added glitter glue to the roofs and spread it around with a small paintbrush. Ideally, you would stamp and add the glitter glue before attaching the houses to the card.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on the banner strip with Real Red ink and added it to the glitter strip. Then I added it to the lower left area of the card with Dimensionals. I also added the big tree with Dimensionals, placing it on the card so it covered the line where the two house pieces meet.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment with Real Red ink and the snowflake image with Balmy Blue ink. I glued the double tree piece to the bottom left corner and the small tree piece to the bottom right corner. Then, I added this whole piece to the inside of the card.
