A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop – September 2022

Oct 7, 2022 | Paper Pumpkin

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!  A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  Continue reading to see the projects I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other blogs, and learn more about the next kit (October 10th is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the September 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Spooky Treats.  This kit came with materials to make 18 treat boxes, featuring a Halloween theme.  I used elements in the kit to make an alternate card and a Halloween treat basket.

Alternate Project Ideas

Happy Halloween Card

To make this card I cut apart one of the white box pieces to get the spiderweb section.  I layered a piece of the Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper under the spider web piece.  Then I added this to a slightly longer piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and centered it on a Basic Black card base.  I stamped the sentiment on the Fresh Freesia strip and added that below the spider web piece with Mini Dimensionals.  The spider is also added with Mini Dimensionals.  A final touch for the front of the card was to add a few of the black star sequins.  For the inside of the card, I stamped the spider image in all of the corners.

Halloween Treat Basket

For this treat basket, I used my Berry Basket Template to cut out a basket from Fresh Freesia cardstock.  I decorated the side panels before adhering everything together.  For the front side, I cut out a spider web from one of the white box pieces and glued it to the upper right side.  I stamped the sentiment on the scalloped circle piece and layered that on the Pumpkin Pie bat piece.  Before adding this piece (with Dimensionals), I laid it down to help determine where to stamp the spider so it wouldn’t be too hidden.  On the other three sides, I stamped the bats image in opposite corners (but made the mistake of stamping too high on each panel, so some of the bats got covered up when putting the basket together…oops!).  Now it’s ready to fill with some Halloween goodies!
