Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!  A group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have gathered together to provide alternate project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  Continue reading to see the projects I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other bloggers, and learn more about the next kit (October 10th is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the September 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – With Love & Gratitude.  This kit came with materials to make 8 mini cards and 8 gift bags.  I cut apart the gift bags to make a banner and a full-sized card.

Alternate Project Ideas

Project 1

To make the banner, I cut open the gift bags and cut out a 4-3/4″ x 3″ section from the side with the gold decorative edge (for a total of eight panels).  I cut some Crumb Cake cardstock to the same size to use as a backing to make each panel sturdier.  After gluing the cardstock to the back of the gift bag paper, I trimmed off the parts that stuck out from the decorative edge.

Then I punched out eight circles (from the leftover gift bag paper) using the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.  I stamped the letters of “thankful” (from the Classic Letters stamp set) on each circle with Pretty Peacock ink.  I also punched out eight circles (from Pretty Peacock cardstock) using the 2″ Circle Punch.

Next, I added the large gold and printed foliage pieces to the panels.  Then, the stamped circles were layered onto the Pretty Peacock circles and added with Dimensionals towards the bottom of the panels.

Finally, I used a hole punch to punch two holes at the top corners of each panel and added a length of the Natural Wavy Trim through all the panels to complete the banner.

Project 2

To make the full-sized card, I used another section of the gift bag, cut down to 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″.  I added this piece to a Pretty Peacock card base.  Then, I added the die-cut elements in a similar fashion to the intended kit cards.  For some extra shine, I added 5 copper sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack.

For the inside, I added a 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of White cardstock.
