Acorny Thank You Cards – Simple and Stepped Up

Nov 4, 2016 | Cards

I’m still in love with the colors from the October Paper Pumpkin kit, so I made a couple fall cards using those same colors.  The Acorny Thank You stamp set is perfect to make a simple fall card, and it can be easily stepped up with a few more supplies.

To make the simple version, stamp the acorn images in Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Delightful Dijon ink, and the acorn caps in Chocolate Chip ink, on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Punch out using the Acorn Builder Punch, and use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the cap onto the full acorn piece.  Lay the acorns on a Very Vanilla card base to figure out the placement of the sentiment.  Stamp the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink.  Adhere two of the acorns (on the left and the right) with SNAIL, and the third (middle) acorn with dimensionals.

(Do you see the little spots on the bottom left of the card?  It’s ok if you missed it…it’s not supposed to be there.  I had this card a little too close when I was splattering some Gold Wink of Stella on a piece for the next card.  Oops!  Lesson learned, keep things farther away when letting the ink – or glitter – fly!)

For the stepped up version, stamp, punch and attach the acorns in the same manner as above.  Cut a 3” x 3” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, and a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Splatter some Gold Wink of Stella all over the vanilla piece, then adhere to the Chocolate Chip piece.  Adhere this layering piece to the Very Vanilla card base, towards the top.  Use the Clear Wink of Stella to brush some glitter on the acorn caps.  Attach the acorns to the layered piece, similar to the simple version.  Stamp the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, and fussy cut around the image.  Adhere to the card with dimensionals just under the layered piece.

It’s hard to capture the glitter on camera, especially for the gold splatter, but you can kind of see some shine on the left and middle acorn caps.

I am working on some more fall ideas to share here (and I will probably use the Acorny Thank You set again because it’s so fun).  So, please check back throughout the month to see what I’m working on.  If you want to recreate the cards I shared today, check the bottom of this post for the list of supplies used.  You can shop with me online anytime and use the Host Code: GKEG3KN9 (only for November 2016) and receive a special thank you from me.
