Beautiful You Meets This Little Piggy

Aug 3, 2017 | Cards

I’m back with another card using the This Little Piggy stamp set…but in an unexpected way.  I paired the piggy kisses image with one of the girls from the Beautiful You set.  Take a look below to see how to get the look.

I kept the overall card design fairly simple to let the dress stand out.  I love how the piggy kisses can give the dress a leopard print look.

To begin, stamp the sentiment towards the left side of a 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Powder Pink cardstock and adhere to the white card base about an inch from the bottom.

To get the leopard print look on the dress, stamp the lady on a 3″ x 2″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock and again on a scrap piece.  Taking the scrap piece, cut out the inside area of the dress to make a mask (using an Exacto knife here is very helpful).  Tape the mask over the Shimmery White piece using some washi tape.  Stamp the piggy kisses all over the dress.

When you remove the mask, your lady will have a fancy dress that just needs some color.

Using the Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen, color the dress and hat as desired.  I used brown and orange very lightly on the main dress area, only brown inside the “spots,” and black for the hat.

To add some extra sparkle, I used the Clear Wink of Stella Marker on the dress and hat.  Once dry, adhere this piece to a 3-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock, then add to the card base with Dimensionals.
