Have you fallen in love with the new Occasions catalog yet? I have! There are so many fun things inside…and the FREE items to pick from in the Sale-A-Bration brochure is like the cherry on top. You can check out the catalogs online here.
The first stamp set I got from this catalog is the Beautiful You set. The three ladies are simply beautiful with the hand drawn look to them. You can color them in with your ink pads, markers, or the new watercolor pencils. The cards I made for today use these three coloring methods along with our Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack.
To make this first card, start with a Very Vanilla base and add a 5-½” x 2-¼” piece of the black crosshatch pattern about a quarter inch from the left edge. Stamp the lady and “Celebrate” in Basic Black ink on a 4” x 2” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp the dress image on the lady with Real Red ink. Attach this piece to the card using dimensionals. Stamp “IN STYLE” with black ink on the inside.
For the second card, add a 5-¼” x 4” piece of the pink and purple squares pattern to a Very Vanilla card base. Stamp the umbrella lady on a 3-½” x 2” piece of Blushing Bride cardstock with Basic Black ink, and use the Blushing Bride marker to ink the “rain puddle” image and stamp below the lady. Also, color in the umbrella with the Blushing Bride marker. Mat this piece on a 3-⅝” x 2-⅛” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, and attach to the card using dimensionals. Stamp the sentiment on the inside with the black ink.
The final card is made with a Sweet Sugarplum card base. Add a 5-½” x 2-½” piece of the multicolor paint strokes pattern on the left edge of the base. Stamp the dancing/kicking lady on a 3-½” x 3-½” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Basic Black ink. Using the watercolor pencils, color her hat with the Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight pencils, her dress with Rich Razzleberry, and the water with Bermuda Bay. Use a Blender Pen to smooth out the color and blend the colors on the hat. Add this piece to the card, about ⅜” from the sides and top. Stamp the sentiment on the inside with the black ink.

I enjoy creating cards to share with you all so much that I am working on new online class offering – Stamp of the Month Club. Each month, starting in February, I will be offering a class option online, with the stamps, ink, and paper you will need to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs) mailed to you. Each month will feature a different stamp set. To learn more about the Stamp of the Month Club and to get on the email notifications list, click here. And, be on the lookout for a special blog post about the first class by the end of the month.
