CARD INSPIRATION
Gorgeous Grape makes for a bold background on this sweet birthday card. Below are the instructions for making this card.

For the card base, use a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored and folded at 4-1/4″ on the long side. Cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and emboss two of the jars from the Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies. To emboss with the dies, use the Big Shot Embossing Mats and use some strips of Washi Tape to hold the dies where you want them to emboss. Layer this embossed piece on a 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Pool Party cardstock and add to the card base.

Use the third jar die to die cut out the matching jar from the jar sheet in the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper. Add this piece over top the embossed jars with Dimensionals. Use a 1″ strip of Whisper White cardstock to die cut out the label piece using the larger label die from the set. Stamp the sentiment on the label piece with Gorgeous Grape ink and add to the top of the card with Dimensionals.

Color 5 of the Pearl Basic Jewels with Stampin’ Blends. I used Light Lovely Lipstick, Dark Pineapple Punch, Dark Granny Apple Green, Dark Pool Party, and Dark Highland Heather to mimic the colors of the candies in the jar. Add the colored pearls to the card.

For the inside of the card, cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the sentiment towards the top with Gorgeous Grape ink. Then stamp a candy image in the bottom right corner. Adhere to the inside.
I hope you are excited to get making with Gorgeous Grape! Next week we will take a look at the color Shaded Spruce, so don’t forget to follow along here and on social media. I look forward to seeing what you make, so please tag me (@mackenziemakes) and use the hashtag #makewithcolor when you share on social media.
Happy making!
