I am a little behind in my Color of the Week series, but here is color number 13 – Mango Melody! This is one of the new colors in the Brights Color Collection. To see all the other color posts for this year, head over to this section of the blog.
Make sure to follow along here on the blog or on my Instagram and Facebook pages. I will be using the hashtag #makewithcolor throughout the year when I share color projects and combinations and ask that you join in too! All you have to do is tag me (@mackenziemakes) and use the #makewithcolor hashtag so I can see what you are sharing. I’m so excited to bring you color inspiration all year long!
Mango Melody is a fun orange color that is a bit brighter than Crushed Curry and not as dark as Pumpkin Pie.
Use these color combinations as inspiration for making projects with Mango Melody.

This week’s card does not have quite as much of the featured color as compared to the other cards in the Color of the Week series, but I wanted to show how Mango Melody realy pops with a black background. I used the fun stars pattern in the new Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I also used the Cauldron Bubble stamp set, which coordinates with the DSP and has matching framelits for many of the images. Check out the card below and learn how to make your own.
Use an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock (scored and folded at 4-1/4″ on the long side) for the card base. Cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Mango Melody cardstock and use the 2″ Circle punch to punch a circle from the middle area (it doesn’t matter exactly where, just make sure it is not too close to the edges). Cut a piece of the star pattern from the DSP to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and layer on the Mango Melody piece. Adhere this to the card base.
Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Mango Melody ink. Use the 1-3/4″ Circle punch to punch out the sentiment so the words are on the center-right of the circle. Adhere the white circle to the Mango Melody circle off center (so more Mango Melody is showing in the upper left area). Cut out one of the witches from a sheet in the DSP pack (the witch with the orange cape and stars on her apron is used here). Adhere the witch to the left side of the circle layers. Add Dimensionals to the back of the witch/circles layer and adhere to the card towards the bottom left.
For the inside of the card, cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with Mango Melody ink and stamp the star image two times with Black Memento ink. Color in the stars with the Light and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends (if you want the stars to sparkle, run the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the stars – you could even add some sparkle to some of the stars on the front, too). Then adhere this piece to the inside of the card.
I hope you are excited to get making with Mango Melody! Next week we will take a look at the color Soft Suede, so don’t forget to follow along here and on social media. I look forward to seeing what you make, so please tag me (@mackenziemakes) and use the hashtag #makewithcolor when you share on social media.
