October 2016 Paper Pumpkin – Season of Gratitude

Nov 6, 2016 | Paper Pumpkin

I’ve been getting my Paper Pumpkin boxes for awhile now, and the October kit – Season of Gratitude – is simply gorgeous.  It is definitely one of my favorites, with the fall colors and the sequins. Oh, how I love the sequins!  This months kit contained everything needed to make 8 fall shaker cards.  After making one card following the instructions, I made 7 other versions using the kit contents and a handful of other supplies.

Card 1

The intended way to make the shaker cards in the box.

Card 2

I trimmed the Very Vanilla piece to the same width as the window sheet, and made the shaker part similar to the original card.  The phrase is stamped directly to the card base.

Card 3

I made the shaker part similar to Card 2, but used pieces from the included envelopes as the background of the window pieces and added dimensional strips between each leaf cutout (to keep the sequins in each leaf area).  I stamped the texture image directly on the card base, after inking it with a sponge dauber to get a softer look.  Then, I stamped the phrase on the Delightful Dijon banner piece.

Card 4

I trimmed a Very Vanilla piece between the leaf cutouts and made each strip about 1-1/2″ wide.  The strips are attached to the base with dimensionals, and the cutout pieces are adhered with SNAIL and pushed through the opening.  The phrase is stamped on the Cajun Craze piece and layered on a banner piece, which I cut in half to make it look longer.

Card 5

I used the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut from an earlier card and layered some envelope paper underneath.  The phrase is stamped on the right side of a banner piece and a few leaves and a bow attached on the left.  The leaves were colored by using some sponges and ink (Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Delightful Dijon, and Old Olive).

Card 6

I colored a bunch of leaves with Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Delightful Dijon ink, and sponges.  They are adhered along the left side with SNAIL, except for one with dimensionals.  The phrase is stamped directly on the card base.

Card 7

Another strip of Very Vanilla left over from an earlier card was adhered to the left side of the base.  I stamped the texture image on the Cajun Craze piece and overlapped it on the base and vanilla piece.  The phrase is stamped on a Delightful Dijon banner piece, with some twine looped underneath and layered on the Cajun Craze piece with dimensionals.  I added five sequins to the card for some sparkle.

Card 8

I placed the Very Vanilla piece at an angle and made a light pencil line along the edge when positioned where I wanted it.  Then stamped the texture image a few times just inside the line.  I erased the line and adhered the vanilla piece to the base.  Using my paper snips, I trimmed off the overhang areas.  I trimmed off the end of one banner piece and stamped the phrase in the center.  It is attached on the bottom right with dimensionals.  I used a small portion of another banner piece on the top left, also attached using dimensionals.  Then, I finished off the card with five sequins on the banner pieces.

Even though I am out of card bases from the kit, I still have plenty of left over pieces to make many more cards.  This is one of the reasons I love getting Paper Pumpkin boxes delivered each month…you can create the projects as intended, or use the many pieces to make a variety of other cards or projects!
