Throughout October, Stampin’ Up! is offering a sale on Designer Series Paper (DSP) – buy 3 packs and get 1 free! The Designer Series Paper packs available in this sale come with 12 sheets, 2 each of 6 double-sided designs, all 12″ x 12″ in size. The papers within each pack are color coordinated, so you can mix and match the designs in the pack to add color and interest to your paper projects. Today, I am sharing a set of cards made from one sheet of paper from the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper.
To help you make the most of your own Designer Series Paper, I will be sharing a One Sheet Wonder template each Sunday of October. What is a One Sheet Wonder, you ask? It is a template showing you how to cut one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP to make a variety of cards and minimize the amount of waste (because who wants to waste any portion of such beautiful designs?). The only things you need to add are some card bases, cardstock and ink that coordinates with the DSP colors, stamps, and adhesive. If you want, you could also use some punches (like I did with the cards I’m about to show you) or other embellishments to dress up your cards. Using a One Sheet Wonder template is as easy as 1-2-3!
You can download this One Sheet Wonder template from my Make With Me Library. Don’t have access to the library yet? Click here to sign up…it’s free! One quick tip before you begin: take note of the orientation of your DSP as some patterns may only work a certain way. Depending on how you cut into it could determine if your cards are horizontal or vertical (or both, like I purposely did with this set of cards).
These first two cards start with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of DSP. Cut the piece at 2″ on the long side, flip one of the portions over, and adhere both portions to the card base. Stamp the sentiment with Sweet Sugarplum ink on a piece of 4″ x 1-1/2″ Mint Macaron cardstock, and adhere with dimensionals.
The next two cards follow the same process for the DSP as the above cards, the only difference is that these cards are horizontal instead of vertical. Stamp the sentiment with Mint Macaron ink on a piece of the same color cardstock, and punch out with the Decorative Label punch. Adhere the punched pieces with dimensionals.
The next pair of cards uses a 4″ x 4″ piece of DSP, and cut at a diagonal about 1-1/4″ from the bottom on one side and from the top on the other side. Adhere the matching pieces to the card base with a gap between them. Stamp the sentiment in this gap area, Mint Macaron ink used for one and Sweet Sugarplum ink used for the other.
The last two cards use the remaining pieces from the One Sheet Wonder template. The card on the left uses a 2-3/4″ x 4″ piece of DSP, adhered on the left side. Use the Triple Banner Punch to punch one end of a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock 1-1/2″ wide. Stamp the sentiment with Sweet Sugarplum ink towards the banner end. On a scrap piece of white cardstock, stamp the small butterfly image with Sweet Sugarplum ink, punch out, and adhere with a dimensional. The card on the right uses the final two pieces of DSP, stacked on top of each other. Create the sentiment piece by punching both ends of a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock and stamping the sentiment with Sweet Sugarplum ink. The butterfly is created just like before, only in Mint Macaron ink.
While these 8 cards were made using one sheet of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper, you could easily pick a different sheet of DSP from any of our packs to create a whole new set of cards. Which one will you choose? Share with me your creations on social media using #makewithDSP so I can find your creations. And, make sure to check back next week for another One Sheet Wonder template and card ideas.
If you would like to order any of the supplies used here or any of the items currently on sale (all listed below) use this Host Code: QHMDVBQ3 (only for October 2016) so I can send you a special thank you.
