I have been sharing One Sheet Wonder templates this month to show off some of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs included in the DSP Sale going on until October 31st – Buy 3 packs and get 1 FREE. This week’s template was used to make a stack of 16 Christmas cards using a sheet from the Be Merry DSP. This pack of papers is full of holiday patterns in traditional red and green Christmas colors.
The template for this set is One Sheet Wonder Template #9 and can be used to create a stack of 16 cards. All of my printable One Sheet Wonder templates can be found in my Make With Me Library. For this set of cards, I chose a sheet with the red and green bell and ornament pattern from the Be Merry DSP pack. I used 8 sheets of Thick Whisper White cardstock for the card bases, 4 sheets of Garden Green cardstock for the main layer, and 1 sheet of regular Whisper White cardstock for punching. I also used most of a roll of Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon, the Garden Green ink pad, and the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set.
The card bases are 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (scored at 4-1/4″ on the long side), the Garden Green layer pieces are 4″ x 5-1/4″, and the DSP was cut according to the templates.
To get the 16 punched pieces, take the sheet of regular Whisper White cardstock and cut in half on the short side (at 4-1/4″). Use the Pretty Lable Punch to punch four times along each long side of the two pieces (see photo below).
Cut the Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon into (16) 8″ pieces and (32) 5″ pieces.
After everything is cut, stamp the sentiment on all the punched out pieces. To get the gift wrapped look on the DSP, wrap 2 of the 5″ pieces of ribbon around each DSP piece and tape the ends on the back. Make the bows with the 8″ pieces of ribbon (trim ends as needed) and add to the DSP pieces with glue dots. Once all these pieces are prepped, it’s time to assemble the cards.
Fold your card bases along the score line and adhere the Garden Green layer to each one. Use the Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the ribbon-wrapped DSP pieces to the cards, towards the left side. Then add the punched sentiment pieces using Dimensionals, overlapping the DSP a little on the right side.
When all the pieces are cut and prepped, the assembly comes together pretty quickly. And, before you know it, you have a nice stack of 16 Christmas cards ready to be mailed to friends and family.
