PPX Blog Hop Featuring the April 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit

May 10, 2022 | Paper Pumpkin, PPX Projects

Welcome to the PPX Crew Monthly Blog Hop!  The PPX stands for Paper Pumpkin Exclusives.  And the PPX Crew is a small group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who have gathered together to provide our subscribers and team members exclusive project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  We also have a blog hop to share more project ideas with everyone!  Continue reading to see the project I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other PPX Crew members, and learn more about the next kit (today is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the April 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Change is Beautiful.  This kit came with materials to make 9 cards with decorated envelopes.  I used the front of one of the cards to make a new card (and can use the other half to make a different card!).

Instructions

To make this card, I first cut the night/day card base from the kit in half and used the night part.  I flipped the night layer over and used the Blender Brush to add some yellow to the stars and moon before punching out those pieces.  To get a little bit of color variation, I used Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry ink for the yellow color.

After punching out the stars and moon, I adhered the night layer onto a Starry Sky card base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ on the long side).  Then, I added some sparkle to the punched-out stars and moon with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  I adhered the moon and one of the bigger stars to the card with some Mini Dimensionals.  The rest of the stars were added with Glue Dots (saving three stars for the inside of the card).

For the sentiment, I punched out a cloud from some White cardstock using the Cloud Punch.  I stamped the sentiment in the middle using Starry Sky ink.  Then I added it to the card (overlapping the bottom of the moon a little bit) with Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I added a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of White cardstock.  I also added three of the stars, one to the upper left corner and two to the lower right corner.
