PPX Blog Hop Featuring the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Apr 10, 2022 | Paper Pumpkin, PPX Projects

Welcome to the PPX Crew Monthly Blog Hop!  The PPX stands for Paper Pumpkin Exclusives.  And the PPX Crew is a small group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who have gathered together to provide our subscribers and team members exclusive project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  We also have a blog hop to share more project ideas with everyone!  Continue reading to see the project I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other PPX Crew members, and learn more about the next kit (today is the last day to subscribe – details at the end of this post).

PPX Blog Hop

Today’s hop features the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Beyond the Horizon.  This kit came with materials to make 9 cards with decorated envelopes, and a bonus stamp set!  I used a section of the different envelopes plus the bonus stamp set to make a set of cards.

Instructions

To make each card, I took apart an envelope and cut a 3″ x 4″ piece from it.  Then I stamped on that piece with the flower images from the bonus stamp set, matching the ink color with the envelope color (Old Olive, Bumblebee, and Pale Papaya).

To get the two-toned look, ink up the solid flower image and stamp it on some scrap paper and then in one of the corner areas of the envelope piece without reinking.  Next, stamp the detailed image with the same color on top of the first image.  Repeat this process for the opposite corner.  (You may notice the Pale Papaya card doesn’t have the two-toned look, I forgot to stamp off…oops…so it’s just the solid image.  But it still looks good!)

Next, I adhered the stamped envelope piece to a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of White cardstock.  Then I added this piece centered on the card base (Misty Moonlight cardstock).

For the sentiment piece, I stamped the sentiment on one of the white rectangles from the kit using Misty Moonlight ink.  Then I added this piece off-center to the Misty Moonlight rectangle and adhered it to the center of the card with Dimensionals.

Using the Take Your Pick Tool, I added some of the kit embellishments to the card front.

For the inside of the card, I cut a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of White cardstock.  I stamped the flower images in the bottom right corner, following the same steps mentioned above.  Finally, I added this piece to the inside of the card.
