Welcome to the PPX Crew Monthly Blog Hop!  The PPX stands for Paper Pumpkin Exclusives.  And the PPX Crew is a small group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who have gathered together to provide our subscribers and team members exclusive project ideas featuring the Paper Pumpkin kits.  And now we are adding a blog hop to share more project ideas with everyone!  Continue reading to see the project I made for the hop, find links to the blogs of the other PPX Crew members, and learn more about the next kit (today is the last day to subscribe).

Today’s hop features the October 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Peaceful Christmas.  This kit came with materials to make 10 cards with decorative envelopes.  I decided to cut up the envelopes and used them to make a Merry Christmas banner.

Instructions

To begin, I carefully opened up an envelope and cut the flaps off.  I cut the main panel into two 4″ x 2-3/4″ pieces.  Then, I repeated the process until I had 15 pieces.

Each of these envelope pieces is layered on a Black Cardstock panel measuring 5″ x 3″ and trimmed at the bottom to make a banner shape.  Since the envelope layers have the silver foil trees across the bottom, I added the letter layers just above the center so I wouldn’t hide the trees.

I die cut the letters using the Playful Alphabet Dies on Shaded Spruce Cardstock (with an Adhesive Sheet added to the backside to make it like a sticker).  Then I used the Warm Wraps Dies to die cut the stitched circle from Real Red Cardstock and the octagonal shape from Basic White Cardstock.  I needed 14 of each shape to layer with the letters.

Next, I centered each letter on a white piece so that there was a “point” on either side, then added it to a red circle.  Once these pieces were layered together, I attached them to the panels with Dimensionals.

To add some more shine to the banner, I pulled out a pack of Metallic Pearls and put two silver pearls on each panel (one on either side of each letter).  Finally, I hole punched the top corner areas and ran a length of the Real Red Mini Ruffle Ribbon through the panels so I could hang it up on my mantel.
